A car that doesn’t run takes up space in your driveway or garage and is simply annoying. If you’re looking to get rid of a car that doesn’t run, donating your vehicle to Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona is convenient and free. It’s also a tax deduction solution for you and a benefit to your community.
Getting Started
To get started, call us at (602) 513-8413. We’ll arrange the towing of your car at no cost to you, anywhere in the Valley. We accept most cars, trucks, trailers, RVs, motorcycles, boats, vans, motorhomes and even airplanes. Abandoned cars and those that have failed an emission test are also accepted.
Pickup and Vehicle Verification
Upon picking up your car, we will verify that the car hasn’t been stolen and does not have a lien. In order to do so, we ask that you have your paperwork in order, especially if donating a car that is stranded roadside or doesn’t have a title. A notarized bill of sale is sufficient.
Remove your license plate and keep it in your possession, as you may qualify for a credit or refund. We prefer you to be home when we tow your car, but if you can’t be home, then please make sure the required paperwork forms are complete and left with a responsible party.
Tax Deduction
As a donor, you will get a receipt that you can then use to claim a charitable contribution deduction.
Notify Motor Vehicle Department
Within 10 days after your vehicle has been donated, please submit a sold notice to the Arizona Motor Vehicle Department through mail to Mail Drop 555M, Motor Vehicle Division, PO Box 2100, Phoenix, Arizona 85001-2100. You may also submit your sold notice online at www.servicearizona.com.
Your generous vehicle donation supports our mission of fighting unemployment in Arizona. Proceeds help us fund our no-cost career centers that provide individuals with job resources, like resume review and interview training. There’s no better use for a vehicle that you no longer want or need.
