Teachers, nurses and all types of professionals have to sit down with prospective employers and face tough interview questions before they can be hired for their dream job. Most interviewers have to ask in an interview some of the most common questions, but the answers that they receive may not always impress them.
Here are a few of the most common interview questions, and what not to say in response:
What not to say: I want this job because I think it will be an easy way to make good money.
What you should say: I feel this job aligns with my interests and my professional skills, and I feel I would be able to add value to your organization.
What not to say: My boss is terrible, and we do not get along.
What you should say: I feel I have reached my full potential at my current position, and I’m looking to challenge myself so that I can grow personally and professionally.
What not to say: I do not really have any weaknesses, only strengths.
What you should say: I have specific areas where I feel that I excel and other areas where I hope to continue to grow.
What not to say: I don’t know. I just want to see where this takes me.
What you should say: I hope to continue to grow and advance in my field, and one day take on a leadership position.
What not to say: No one else is as qualified as I am.
What you should say: I am a committed professional who is passionate about my career, and I would go above and beyond to complete my tasks each day.
